Check Out the Storefront Catalyst Program Installation in the City of York
A continuation of the storefront catalyst program, through a partnership between the York County Trail Towns program and the Cultural Alliance of York County, brings three art pieces to the Grotto Community Center now through January 9th, 2026. The effort is a part of what we are calling the Storefront Catalyst Program, which aims to spotlight business opportunities in our Trail Towns such as this location.
The storefront installation highlights the work of some of the skilled craftspeople in our community. The installation is composed of works from The Lotus Bloom, McAdams Leatherworks, and Damsefly Forge. The 3 artists featured are previous grantees of the Cultural Alliance Creative Entrepreneur Grant and are keeping traditional skillsets alive through their work in York County. Installations were created by Elia Fillipone to uniquely highlight the artists work.
The Trail Towns program secured funding in 2023 through the PA Council on the Arts’ Creative Communities Initiatives Project, which supports this installation. The intention is to partner with Trail Friendly-Businesses, such as the Grotto, and Trail Town communities to bring attention to the spaces where businesses can grow. To learn more about the Grotto, check out the recent article Cultivating Community & Creating Space in the Fall 2025 Downtown York Magazine or visit them at their location at 17 E. Philadelphia Street in the City of York.
